It should be fine; do a lan benchmark to make sure

rodriguez^jarvis: with the default proxydhcp mode, you can just add it

But if you want shared users or shared home directories, that's a different story

Hey I was looking into LTSP and I was trying to figure out if the current implementation of LTSP has clients as thin clients or fat clients. That is do applications run on the server or do they run on the client? Or is there a way to do both?

<tdettling>
I am sure I am missing something I just dont see anything in the wiki about how (if possible) to set up for each of the senarios
21:53
Also if it is possible, is there a method of combining the two? Like say its a 'thin' client, is there a way for some applications to be run on the server and other ones say for example a web browser to run locally on the client?

tdettling ... basically the default is not traditional thin clients ... implementing some thin-client support can be done using other software for connecting remote desktops (vnc, rdp, x2go, etc.)
22:59
so in short, not thin clients out of the box, though you might be able to implement something

<tdettling>
Ah okay, I figured I was doing more reading through this IRC and some github issues and it seems that support is limited, altough it does seem that ltsp remoteapps does exist however I am not sure how I will go about running everything on there except a few applications. Also looking into how I could implement this over remote desktop, i am trying
23:08
to find a solution where the thin client just logs into remote desktop and there is minimal overhead on the thin client.
23:22
<vagrantc>
one of the issues is that support for network transparency in X has bitrotted over time as it becomes a rarer and rarer use-case, and wayland doesn't support it at all
23:23
so as computers generally became much more powerful, it made less sense to support traditional thin clients
