hi!
10:50
So I just tried 12 different DP cables, from different brands and different specs. All of them resulted in the same error = screen flickers when moving the mouse on an off the dual screens.
10:50
I did some more digging and like everywhere I go they say that changing the default driver works
10:52
<alkisg>
I think you need #ubuntu-x more than ltsp for this
10:52
I would file bug reports for all related issues in the upstream intel bugzilla
11:00
<enoch8592>
ok
11:00
I noticed that LTSP have it's on xorg.conf for the client though
11:00
Is it possible to set values in that?
11:00
Something like This driver uses SNA as the default acceleration method. You can tryfalling back to UXA if you run into trouble. To do so, save a file withthe following content as /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf : Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" #Option
11:00
"AccelMethod" "sna" EndSection
11:00
Sorry
11:01
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1533863#p1533863
11:03
<alkisg>
Yes of course you can set a custom xorg.conf for ltsp clients
11:03
You can put whatever you want in it
11:06
<enoch8592>
Hmm
11:06
Will try that then
11:06
Btw, great to see such great progress in this project
11:06
Kudos!

Hello!
11:55
ltsp19. Is authorization under domain accounts possible on clients? Host in the domain, authorization under domain users approx.
11:55
On ltsp 5.x domain authorization is approx.
12:04
<alkisg>
os_a: yes, see for example https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/issues/16
12:04
<os_a>
ok, merci

But note that now you need to setup ldap in the chroot
12:04
(or / for chrootless)
12:04
As user accounts need to exist for LightDM, GDM etc to work with SSHFS

Hi, I am working on installing ltsp 19 on Ubuntu 19.10. Everything is working fine except iPXE. When I run the “ltsp iPXE” command, I get two errors. One is that memtest.efi was not found. The second is “Could not locate required iPXE binary: snap only.efi”.
17:51
Nevermind, something happened during the install which changed the default network card from the internet side to the ltsp side. I got it working
17:52
<alkisg>
eu^167214226: those are provided by the "ltsp-binaries" packges

I had to manually install iPXE, then re-run the ltsp iPXE command

Your pam isn't the stock one
18:51
That's what the message means
18:53
Debian and Ubuntu have a stock /etc/pam.d directory
18:53
LTSP knows how to handle it
18:53
But something non-standard modified yours
18:54
Which distro/version is this, and what pam-modifying software did you install?

19:36
<Jimmy9a>
Thanks. It's a bit over my head, but I'll take a look and see if I can figure it out
19:36
<alkisg>
For starters just use the debian file
19:37
instead of the modified budgie one
19:37
<||cw>
Jimmy9a: I just used samba's official docs. winbind is much easier than sssd, and integrates better over all
19:38
<Jimmy9a>
Thanks both of you for your help!
19:38
<||cw>
I don't remember if I have it on thin or fat mode.
19:38
<Jimmy9a>
LTSP5?
19:39
<||cw>
yeah. for fat, kerberos could be an issue
19:39
<Jimmy9a>
We had that working on both thin and fat with sssd
19:42
<||cw>
I think mine's fat, I just don't remember for sure
19:43
<alkisg>
Jimmy9a: and you're saying this is the stock one, you didn't put sss there because you installed some package etc?
19:44
<Jimmy9a>
No. The only packages I installed were the ones recommended in the install docs
19:45
<alkisg>
OK then budgie for some reason decided to customize this
19:45
Let me check with its live cd...
19:47
budgie 19.04 has the stock one
19:48
<Jimmy9a>
Hmm, then I screwed something up
19:49* alkisg needs to read about pam-auth-update and use that instead, it would be more generic
19:54
<||cw>
pam-auth-update is what I use to add winbind
19:54
just have to add winbind to the nsswitch.conf first
19:56
<alkisg>
Jimmy9a: budgie 19.10 live cd also doesn't have sssd there
20:00
OK, filing a bug about this...
