I hope somebody is still there :)
I need to know if it's possible to make able client-side play sounds, using it's card
vagrantc: "sound" is http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/Sound
unfortunatelly I already read it
I'm going to try one last thing, and then search again

Hey, isn't it possible to have sound on the clients, without having a soundcard on the lts server ?
hmm, can you run a sounddeamon without a card, no id, maybe by just making a file /dev/dsp?
i have no id ...
you mean creating the node with mknod ?
don't ask me more, i know not enough about it, you need someone who knows the intern of 'sound' :)
ok ok, take it easy :)
I'll continue searching and I'll tell you if I've got news
meanwhile I stay around
try the mailinglist, then it can be found afterwards
Ok, mailinglist, got it

well, I got ltsp up and running on my new feisty server. Anyone know why the boot is so slow? It seems to run at a crawl
iirc, there were bootproblems, but they sould be solved with the last ltsp-server-package (not totaly sure, it's what i read here)
is that 5.0.6? That's what's in the repos
that is what i don't know ...

im having some problems with dhcpd3, i remember something about dhcpd3 and authoritative awnsers...
hehe, it's a bad time to find dev's , it's easter :)
my clients, ask for ip from server, server do an offer, but,
the client dont get the ip :)
is the server running? look at 'tail -f /var/log/syslog' when booting the client
this is what i read in my dhcpd.conf
# If this DHCP server is the official DHCP server for the local
# network, the authoritative directive should be uncommented.
I'm not sure what the authoritative thing is about, but both my servers are authoritative and it seems to work fine.
yanu, let me try, just a sec
i have 2 dhcp-servers running on my home-network
samething, on syslog, i get DHCPDISCOVER from my client, DHCPOFFER from my server to the client... and the same thing, alog of times.

ltspfs in 4.x uses ... LOCAL_STORAGE ?
# 18:48 < sbalneav> Which will turn off authentication. Which is bad, but handy for testing.
# LTSPFSD_OPTIONS = "-a"
we apparently changed LOCAL_STORAGE to LOCALDEV in the switch to 5.0
which i remember encountering before
possible, iirc , with ltsp5 and LDM, localdev works out of the box
