Hi alkisg why don't use Github releases?

<danboid>
alkisg: Whats the craic with groups and LTSP? pwmerge copies all users but not the groups it seems
13:06
How do I get it to copy a specific group to the LTSP image?
13:06
PWMERGE_SGR="mygroup" doesnt work
13:07
in ltsp.conf
13:13
Does anyone understand how LTSP handles the merging / copying of groups?
13:14
A group I have on both my LTSP server and its client image has a group that I want in the LTSP image but LTSP doesnt want to copy that group to the LTSP image
13:15
PWMERGE_DGR="mygroup" doesnt work either
13:19
I thinkd
13:19
Ive spotted the reason in the comments for pwmerge
13:20
"Note that non-system groups that do match dgr are discarded in the end if they don't have any members"
13:21
My group doesnt have any members locally but all ldap users are in this group
13:24
There doesnt seem to be a way to bypass this behaviour without editing pwmerge
13:27
If Im reading the comments correctly then specifying my group in PWMERGE_DGR should stop it being removed but thats not working for me
13:33
Ive tried defining it using both the groups name and by its GID
13:36
alkisg: I suppose the workaround is for me to create a local user using that group

<alkisg>
Hi kvaps , github releases requires me to upload tar.gz and binaries etc, while github tags https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/tags allows for distributions to get the sources without me doing anything, right? Or am I missing something?

alkisg: My workaround didn't work. I created a local user in my LTSP VM image that is a member of the group that I want to be in the LTSP imagebut it hasn't worked
15:17
After recreating the ltsp image and initrd the group I want in the image isstill missing

<danboid>
alkisg: Sorry I've been logging in and out. Do you have any suggestions for my group problem?
15:44
I looks like this could be a pwmerge bug if I understand how it works properly
15:45
<alkisg>
Hi danboid, sorry I've no time for lengthy support this period; no I do not think it's a pwmerge bug
15:46
<danboid>
I only have one question, howto forcetghecreation of a group in an ltsp image without patching pwmerge?
15:47
The group exists on the ltsp server and currently in the LTSP VM source image but I could remove it from the VM image if pwmerge will insert it for me orsomething
