Hello
12:19
how are you
12:19
I am with problem 2 clients. It gives me this screen: https://imgur.com/TilRo0X
12:20
Please, can help me how to fix it?
12:33
the last time to fix it,I did: sudo wget boot.ipxe.org/ipxe.pxe -O /srv/tftp/ltsp/undionly.kpxe and fix but now 2 clients show this screen
13:41
<alkisg>
Hi Douglas Giovani Oechsler
13:41
The other client, that had the previous problem, does it have a hard disk where you could put ipxe.pxe locally?
13:43
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
alkisg: no not,without disk
13:44
<alkisg>
Douglas Giovani Oechsler: then you'd need to modify the dnsmasq configuration so that it sends a different file for each case, for each one of these clients
13:44
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
can be a pendrive?
13:44
<alkisg>
Yes, of course
13:44
First of all, put the old file back: sudo wget boot.ipxe.org/undionly.kpxe -O /srv/tftp/ltsp/undionly.kpxe
13:45
Then reboot all the clients, and mark down the mac address of the one that doesn't boot now
13:45
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
right
13:55
ok back the command resolv the problem about 2 clients,but now, other: https://imgur.com/Kvq9PEM
13:56
<alkisg>
How many clients have this issue now?
13:56
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
only one
13:56
now
13:56
<alkisg>
You need to mark their MAC addresses, and create a special dnsmasq.conf for them
13:56
Or you can put ipxe.usb in the usb stick
13:59
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
how can do the special dnsmasq.conf? if I use usb disk, need let usb disk on the machine?
13:59
<alkisg>
Yes, you need to let the usb disk on the machine
14:00
Or a floppy disk, or a cd
14:00
You would need to modify /etc/dnsmasq.d/ltsp-dnsmasq.conf
14:00
There's a line there that mentions undionly.kpxe
14:00
You would need to use "tags" to create an "if mac address == this computer" condition, to send "ipxe.pxe" for that specific PC
14:01
Unfortunately it would take me 10 minutes to do that, it's not very easy, you need to read the dnsmasq configuration help
14:02
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
right,I will read
14:03
thank you attention alkisg
14:06
<alkisg>
👍️
14:06
<DouglasGiovaniOe>
I belive that way is this: pxe-service=tag:proxy,tag:!iPXE,X86PC,"undionly.kpxe",ltsp/undionly.kpxe
14:25
for now I will try to get other machine until learn modify this line.But, thank you
15:12
<alkisg>
You will need to replace that line with 3-5 other lines, yes
15:13
Or you can run that wget command, boot the other pcs first, then the other wget command, and boot this one :D
15:13
Or you can insert the usb stick, boot the pc, and then take off the stick; it doesn't need to be inserted for it to boot
15:13
*to work after boot
