<kneekoo>
hello, I'm trying to translate the string on #762 https://github.com/epoptes/epoptes/blob/master/epoptes/ui/gui.py
00:25
_("%(user)s from %(host)s") %
00:26
is that supposed to be translated or not?
00:26
<map7>
alkisg: Thanks I've added LTSP to my chroot and it works.
00:27
I updated https://github.com/ltsp/community/wiki/chroots

kneekoo: hi
03:35
<kneekoo>
hi
03:36
<alkisg>
This kind of python strings gets translated by keeping the variables, so you only need to translate "from" there
03:36
But in some languages, it's possible that (user) needs to go after "from", hence the variable
03:37
<kneekoo>
and is that always in the singular case? never plural?
03:37
<alkisg>
Let me check that part...
03:38
In Greek, I translated it to: %(user)s από %(host)s
03:39
If you have a few minutes, I'll re-read about singular/plural...
03:39
<kneekoo>
ok
03:40
<alkisg>
Ah ok I remembered, that s there means string, it's always singular
03:40
So if multiple users disconnect, that message will be displayed many times
03:41
<kneekoo>
ok, then my job is done :)
03:41
thanks for your help
03:41
<alkisg>
Thank you! :)
03:42
<kneekoo>
Launchpad still says there are 3 untranslated strings in Romanian, but when I click that "3", there are no strings left to be translated
03:42
<alkisg>
Let me check
03:42
<kneekoo>
does it needs some time to sync the totals with the actual translations?
03:43
yup, it needed a minute or two
03:43
<alkisg>
Yeah https://translations.launchpad.net/epoptes/+translations# shows fully translated now for Romanian
03:43
<kneekoo>
so it's all done :)
03:43
<alkisg>
Great!
03:44
<kneekoo>
thanks again, and maybe see you next time I have some questions :)
03:45
<alkisg>
Sure

<alkisg>
map7: you should not install the server dependencies to the chroot
03:46
<map7>
alkisg: so just the 'ltsp' package?
03:47
<alkisg>
You can put ltsp in the initial step if you want: apt install --no-install-recommends linux-generic initramfs-tools
03:47
apt install ltsp
03:47
apt install --install-recommends ltsp
03:48
<map7>
ok, i've fixed the wiki
03:54
<alkisg>
I updated the https://ltsp.org/docs/ppa/ etc pages to use "focal" instead of "bionic"

Hello. I have a simple question. How can i set default session in ltsp.conf. In the old ltsp it was easy. LDM_SESSION="gnome-flashback-metacity" in lts.conf and the default session was gnome-session-flashback.
11:31
<alkisg>
NecTal: the new ltsp is easier, you just need to see how it would be done without ltsp :)
11:31
Which display manager are you using?
11:32
I think the wiki has advice for lightdm...
11:32

wiki: The LTSP community wiki can be found at https://github.com/ltsp/community/wiki
11:33
<NecTal>
Okay. I will give it a look.
11:33
<alkisg>
https://github.com/ltsp/community/wiki/Remmina-Kiosk-(RDP,-Spice,-&-VNC)
11:34
# And set it as the default session of this user: LIGHTDM_CONF='user-session=remmina-gnome'
11:34
In that case, the documentation is in lightdm conf
11:34
Not in ltsp
