I do like investing time to the open source community in whole where many can benefit, but "private lessons" or "private help in developing custom solutions" is more of a "job" than an "open source-related chat"... After some research last night it looks like the limiting factor w/ centos 6 is the kernel version 2.6.32 not having aufs support.

The first time I attempted to help maintain the centos packages for ltsp (a couple weeks back talking w/ vagrantc) i realized i really don't understand the overall architecture of PXElinux->kernel->init[rd].

| 18:05 | Throw aufs on top of that, and I wouldn't be much help at all. Part of my reasoning for starting 'from the ground up' re-inventing the wheel is so that I can understand how the whole thing is supposed to work. If I can get this all together, I would be happy to help as long as I can.

| 21:01 | there are 3 patches, "aufs2-kbuild", "aufs2-base" and "proc_map" the kbuild was only slightly off in that there were some additional modules that didnt match the .patch diff. but nothing crazy. the aufs2-base patch however is failing at a hunk regarding splice.h and namei.h, however there are bout 4 or 5 other hunks in that patch that work fine.
