I may've found a bug. My ltsp-build-client have trouble with my locale settings (default). I compiled some prints here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11_lmX6eBqC6IVgXDtPhR7mNH4nQv1Ten/view?usp=sharing
11:47
also, any ideas why sshd doesn't work? I enter in chroot "ltsp-chroot -m", install it "apt install openssh-server" and, apparently, everything runs well but when I boot the clients some files are missing and so ssh won't work
11:48
<quinox>
they get pruned
11:48
you can disable that pruning
11:48* quinox looks for the documentation, sec...

@quinox, I just tryied to reinstall everything and also do that, it didn't work.
13:00
<quinox>
which files are missing specifically?
13:03
(there's also https://wiki.debian.org/LTSP/Epoptes if you want to control clients from a central point)

<mads2>
/etc/init.d/ssh is missing for example, some files are missing and some are present. I need ssh.

I think that I fixed the sshd problem. I fixed the locales as I said in the file I shared and had to "apt purge" not only openssh-server but all ssh related packages and reinstall. Now I can start it normally. I'm testing in a VM and will do it in the real lab this afternoon.

<rafael-ec>
hi, I am trying to install ltsp-server on Debian Stretch and get this error on the client:
20:39
"ALERT! /dev/nbd0 does not exist. Dropping to shell!"
20:40
and this on the server: nbd_server[29876]: Negotiation failed/8a: Requested export not found, or is TLS-only and client did not negotiate TLS
20:40
I am kind of new with LTSP. Hope you can help

<josefig>
hello guys
21:51
<alkisg>
Hello
21:52
I answered to your mail, did you receive it?
21:55
<josefig>
Yes, sorry to bother you too much, It's just that I see now on resolv.conf the line as 127.0.0.53 and I assume it has to be with the DNS
21:55
<alkisg>
This is systemd-resolved
21:56
<josefig>
ok, so it's not correct that I disabled the systemd-resolved ?
21:57
<alkisg>
You decide if you want systemd-resolved or dnsmasq, as a dns server
21:57
This is your decision, based on your needs
21:57
Then you run ltsp-config, with or without --enable-dns, and everything is set up automatically
21:57
So you don't need to edit anything by yourself.
21:57
<josefig>
ok i gotcha
21:58
i have a separate NIC, which I setup like this using Network Manager>> Static IP: 192.168.67.1 GW: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2
21:59
so I did http://wiki.ltsp.org/wiki/Installation/Ubuntu (Dual NIC) option
22:00
<alkisg>
You don't need gw/dns there, but sure, ok
22:00
<josefig>
ok
22:00
let me try again
22:00
<alkisg>
Since you do have a separate nic, i suggest using dnsmasq
22:01
So run ltsp-config dnsmasq --overwrite --enable-dns
22:01
<josefig>
as dns server ?
22:01
<alkisg>
And see what works and what not
22:01
<josefig>
ok,
22:04
I do see the fat client boot but no internet
22:08
I see both systemd-resolved and dnsmasq running but i cannot access internet on Fat client
22:09
<alkisg>
josefig: on the server now, netstat -ntap | grep :53
22:09
shows dnsmasq or systemd?
22:09
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:53 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8450/dnsmasq
22:09
<josefig>
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:53 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 2645/dnsmasq
22:09
tcp6 0 0 :::53 :::* LISTEN 2645/dnsmasq
22:11
<alkisg>
OK, did you reboot the client after that dnsmasq change?
22:11
The clients pick up the dns servers on boot
22:11
Btw, did you set up NAT as the wiki page says?
22:11
For internal-nic clients to access the internet, nat is needed as well

22:43
last question was, how can I install apps on server and make them visible to my flat clients, just like apt-get install <etc>??
22:54
<alkisg>
josefig: apt-get install, and then ltsp-update-image -c /
22:55
