we've set up a debian tftp... let's say "server"... that enables clients to boot from network (for example clonezilla). Is it possible to provide a suse/(ed)ubuntu boot option?

Hello, folks... I've been lurking here for a while the past month or so. May I ask a quick (I hope) question?
10:25
I work for an organization that tries to help out non-profits with their IT. So I have been installing servers running LTSP on Ubuntu Feisty.
10:26
I've been running into problems with modern machines- laptops, mostly. And my question is about getting LTSP to work with these machines.

Case in point- A Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop with ATI Radeon X1300- it seems to choke as X comes up.
10:31
I did a sudo chroot on the server and installed the ATI proprietary driver. My question is, do I need to do anything else after this step?
10:32
Like ltsp-update-kernel, etc? Or is installing the driver in the chroot environment sufficient?
10:33
or should I have waited until people were awake to ask this question? :)

Hi. I recently upgraded my church's LTSP server from Debian Sarge to Debian Etch. When I did, all the machines that were netbooting using floppies from rom-o-matic quit net booting
11:20
I made new floppy images (the ones I had been using before were a couple years old) but that did not fix it.

warren: so, i've got a debian lenny image that works in both virtualbox and boots to qemu ...
11:30
warren: and it boots with a virtualbox thin client, at least
11:31
warren: seems like the common disk format is vmware's vmdk format...

22:29
warren: i'm guess you don't need that disk image anymore
22:30
