If anyone sees bcg can you please pass along that I am not familiar with lp and a link to somewhere relevant to Fedora RPM's would be appreciated.

Willtech: yes, see above. Sources are in https://code.launchpad.net/ltsp (rhel-repos), except *.spec files. There are no prebuild rpms.

<talmid>
is there an option to change the delay when the client enters wrong password? It takes very long until they can try again, I tried adding "nodelay" to common-auth, but doesn't work

Hello, when the initialization of my thin client ends, my login screen appears only in black. I've already change the screen resolution but doesn't work. Someone have any idea?
13:23
The color depth was chaged too, however doesn't worked too.

<alkisg>
talmid: unfortunately a commit in ldm 3 years ago broke this. Noone took the time to fix it.
14:19
(it used to work better, and a commit to create better messages, introduced the delay)
14:19
paulo_silvaa: does this happen in all clients, or is it related to the client hardware?
14:29
<paulo_silvaa>
alksig, It's related to a new client hardware that we bought
14:29
<alkisg>
paulo_silvaa: so you have some other client that works?
14:29
<paulo_silvaa>
All the other clients works perfectly
14:29
<alkisg>
Which distro/version/kernel are you using, and what is the client hardware?
14:30
<paulo_silvaa>
I'm using Debian 7.8 3.2.0-4-amd64
14:31
<alkisg>
So it's possible that your kernel/xorg doesn't support the new client; in that case, you could use nomodeset or vesa, or update your kernel/xorg...

14:32
<alkisg>
Start by trying this in lts.conf: XSERVER=vesa
14:32
This may make your client work, although slowly
14:32
<paulo_silvaa>
Intel® HD Graphics 400
14:32
<alkisg>
And, well, to properly solve it, you'd need to update
14:32
<paulo_silvaa>
Hum... Ok, I'll try my friend
14:32
THank you very much!

14:45
<talmid>
is there a workaround for the long delay? or alternative?
14:49
<alkisg>
talmid: no; one would need to check the specific commit, pinpoint the bug, send a patch, and wait for a release
14:50
<talmid>
ok, thank you

bcg I am happy to follow instructions when they exist - is `autogen.sh` okay? What else needs to be done?

Okay, I have run `autogen.sh` of Fedora 27 Server in a test environment - what now?
21:17
<||cw>
configure, make, make install is the normal process. installing ltsp from source sounds kinda painful unless you're a developer familiar with building on fedora
21:52
<vagrantc>
admittedly, ltsp and ldm aren't really properly set up with autotools or makefiles and such
21:52
there are a lot of manual fiddly installation things you need to do
21:53
<||cw>
it's also fairly version-dependent on several other things right?
21:53
or maybe just for certain feature
