<Leolo_2>
the pam part talks to a socket to a sshauthd daemon
20:23
this deamon (currently in perl) deals with ssh
20:23
and keeps the ssh alive between pam_sm_authenticate and pam_sm_close_session
20:23Faith has left IRC (Faith!~paty_@unaffiliated/faith, Quit: Leaving)
20:23
<Leolo_2>
it also mounts sshfs in pam_sm_open_session
20:25
note that the ssh part isn't implemented yet. but I have all the IPC stuff working

22:18
<Leolo_2>
I currently have about 50 users on LTSP 5 thin clients, CentOS 6, with the NFS chroot and xdm
22:18
I need to move some of those users to fat clients
22:19
I could give them xdm or ldm depending on the option they chose in the pxe menu
22:20
but given that I'm a programer first and foremost, I wanted to write some code so that xdm could be used on fat clients
22:20
why am I using NFS ? because nbd wasn't working on CentOS 6 when I upgraded to LTSP 5. what's more, spending 15 minutes every time tweak does not appeal to me
22:21
why am I using xdm? I can't remember why I rejected ldm at the time, but it was probably because a- I didn't understand it, and b- it was overkill for what I anted.
22:22
now, assuming I can get rid of EVERYTHING in ldm except the user/passwd greeter, I could use that for fat clients
22:23
specificly, the Preferences stuff in bottom, left
