Hey all. Running LTSP on Ubuntu 1604; anyone know where the DHCP logs are (that is, so i can associate MACs with IPs)?
09:11
<alkisg>
jaitch: tail -f /var/log/syslog if you're using dnsmasq
09:11
Or, right click the clients in epoptes, if you're using epoptes
09:12
...if you're still using isc-dhcp... oh well :D
09:13
<jaitch>
:D looks like isc-dhcp

ltsp on alternate cd ubuntu 12.04 works like a charm. I have not been able to have it on Linux mint 16.04, 32 bit mate eddition, two nics . May anyone point to specifics instructions for this setup?
18:43
<vagrantc>
there's limited support for linux minux, not sure what versions work ok, if any
18:43
er, linux mint
18:50
<ltson1604>
Is there a more reacent version than the "12.04 ubuntu alternate cd" on which ltsp works more or less out of teh box o with specific installation instructions?
18:55
<vagrantc>
in general i would recommend the ltsp-pnp methods
18:56
!ltsp-pnp | echo ltson1604

<vagrantc>
you'll also probably want the ppa's
18:56
!greek-schools-ppa

<ltsp>
greek-schools-ppa: https://launchpad.net/~ts.sch.gr/+archive/ppa/ supports LTS Ubuntu releases with newer LTSP versions, bug fixes etc

<vagrantc>
ltson1604: the above links should give you a good start

<ltson1604>
vagrant, ltsp. Thank you. I will try with those instructions. I would love though that the ltsp page itself had cookbooks for specifici installations. If I am succeseful I will certainly publish the recipy. regards

<alkisg>
ltson1604: ltsp is a bot that we call to make/show notes :)

You can also try this:

19:06
thank you , I had no idea.

<alkisg>
np
19:08
<vagrantc>
oh yeah, i totally forgot about ltsp-manager... somehow
19:08* vagrantc laughs
19:08
<vagrantc>
that would definitely be a better starting point
19:10
<alkisg>
I think the ltsp-pnp page suffers from the nbd config bug, while the ltsp-manager page doesn't
