How are the local dev nodes mapped on fat clients?
It's just, on one client, /dev/ttyACM0 isn't visible, and on another client, it vanishes when I come to use it.
Things work in a native environment, rather than an LTSP environment.
This is the dev node to a Prusa i3 3D Printer btw, which is irrelvant.

I'm having problems with ldm. I can log on, but then it just loops back to ldm again
paste: the LTSP pastebin is at http://ltsp.pastebin.com. Please paste all text longer than a line or two to the pastebin, as it helps to reduce traffic in the channel. Don't forget to paste the URL of the text here.
in ldm.log, I seen "authenticated", "session started" then "session stopped" right away
Leolo_2: fat client? thin client? what do you mean by log on? anything in the server logs?
fat client. sorry
Helenah: fat clients should be no different than a livecd or local install. more similar to a livecd though, so try to boot one and see if the device is stable there. is not, you likely have a hardware issue, like a bad cable, or a USB port not providing enough power or something
"log on" = "enter user+password and then ldm auth screen goes away"

Aug 22 13:07:52 server-Beloeil4 sshd: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user bob by (uid=0)
Aug 22 13:07:52 server-Beloeil4 sshd: Failed password for root from 10.104.0.129 port 49192 ssh2
that's my problem...
||cw: And over how many meters does USB work efficiently?
Cause, I'm bound to running a CNC machine over a long cable?
I thought the problem was fixed, but it wasn't.
Okay, it is fixed, actually, my damned business partner doesn't "think", she was diagnosing a false issue, she didn't plug the cable in...
