<bobby51>
hi there & happy new year
13:48
I'm having some trouble starting a chroot installation with kvm. The machine starts up, but I don't get a graphical interface.
14:03
The chroot installation works when I run it from an LTSP client. And kvm will run the ubuntu ISO without a problem.
14:21
Ok, I found I need to set "-vga cirrus" for ubuntu.

21:28* alkisg wonders if it would make sense to create a discord group for ltsp... ubuntu-mate has a discord server, it seems to work fine for them
21:28
<alkisg>
I guess young computer users feel more comfort there than in IRC
21:30
It also supports email notifications, voice chat, screen sharing, history recording, bots, different sub-channels e.g. for epoptes or greek-only chat... not sure how many of these tools we'll actually use, but it's nice that they exist
21:31
<vagrantc>
don't have too much experience with discord but from some brief usage, it's better than some of the alternatives
21:32
the threaded interfaces always seem hard to keep track of on any busy instance
21:33
<alkisg>
I've seen threaded interfaces in slack; I hated them
21:33
I also don't see any easy way to keep irclogs from e.g. discord, but I guess the internal search function could suffice
