Hello, looking for some LTSP help! I currently have a VM image working and booting, however was surprised when I had to use the servers login credentials and not those of the user created in the VM. Likewise the files created in the VM weren't present! I envisaged that LTSP would allow me to create a VM, boot that VM over PXE, however it seems to do a little different. Or am I doing something wrong / can it do as I've just stated?

Really appreciate your help!

<alkisg>
alien-redfish: you use the server users to mount the server /home/username over sshfs locally
20:18
The VM /home isn't used, it's empty/read-only; sshfs is used
20:19
The server users will always be used even if you have 5 different ltsp images/VMs
20:20
If you want a kiosk-like setup, you can of course create a tmpfs home in RAM and use local users, without pamltsp; but the normal way is to use the server accounts everywhere
20:21
alien-redfish: if you wanted to boot a VM on a single client you can use nfs-rw, you don't need ltsp for that. While if you are planning to boot several clients from the same image, then the image needs to be read only, and the server /home is used

Thank you for your reply, as you state LTSP isn't quite what I'm after - I do however think it'll be of use one day. Thanks again for the reply and the project
