if I suddenly shut down the ltsp server and then I turn it on... will I be able to use ltspinfo to reboot my clients? or will they be frezzed
10:17
<PMantis>
lol
10:18
<sbalneav>
g333k_work: They should come back online, most of them anyway.
10:19
They'll just hang while the server's down, and then pop back to the login when things come back up.
10:19
<PMantis>
Does anyone know how to unmount an NFS dir after the remote server has one away? My client is hanging, hanging...

hi
10:23
<g333k_work>
sbalneav, how can I be sure of that? because some clients are a far away from me... and I dont want to walk for nothing
10:24
<sbalneav>
Well, there's no guarentee. They should work, but yanking the server down on thin clients can always produce unpredictable behavior.
10:25
Best way to avoid a walk is to not suddenly shut down the server :)
10:28
<g333k_work>
sbalneav, ok
10:28
sbalneav, how is it going the developing of ltsp 5 ?
10:29
<sbalneav>
It's available now.
10:29
It's in Ubuntu, and in Debian, and will shortly be in Fedora.
10:30
<g333k_work>
sbalneav, I know is avaiable, I mean how is it going the local applications and local devices issues?
10:31
<sbalneav>
Local devices work quite well, and we're working on local apps as well.
10:31
I've been working the last couple of days on some ldap stuff needed for localapps.
10:31

or does it used xinetd or something?

<mighty-d>
no, inetd.conf
12:58

12:58
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/bin/in.tftpd /usr/bin/in.tftpd -r blksize -s /tftpboot

12:59
/etc/dhcpd.conf: filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.6.16.1-ltsp-2";
12:59
i don't have dhcp3
12:59
<vagrantc>
i just asked for both so i wouldn't have to verify which you had
13:00
<mighty-d>
ok
13:00
:P
13:00
<vagrantc>
so, does /tftpboot/lts exist?
13:00
and are those files there?
13:00
<mighty-d>
yes
13:00
<vagrantc>
hmmm...
13:01
<mighty-d>
ls /tftpboot/lts/vmlinuz-2.6.16.1-ltsp-2
13:01
/tftpboot/lts/vmlinuz-2.6.16.1-ltsp-2
13:01
<vagrantc>
mighty-d: i'm not sure, but the inetd.conf entry looks a little weird... it lists the in.tftpd bit twice ... ?
13:03
<mighty-d>
i got it from www.ltsp.org
13:03
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/bin/in.tftpd -r blksize -s /tftpboot
13:03
how about this one?
13:03
<vagrantc>
give it a try and restart your inetd
13:04
<mighty-d>
ok
13:04
<vagrantc>
hm.
13:04
hm. my line comes out like this:tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/in.tftpd /usr/sbin/in.tftpd -s /var/lib/tftpboot
13:05
so i guess the doubling is fine.

14:39
<sbalneav>
Yup, lots of times.
14:39
Usually it's due to a server that doesn't have a schema loaded.
14:40
check the schema lines in the slapd.conf, betcha a coffee you're missing a schema on the one that won't work.
