see lp:~sbalneav/sbalneav/libpam_sshauth rev 58
19:56
I've written a nss module that will allow for us to spawn the socket,
19:56
hopefully
19:57
stgraber: ping. Version 58 up. Sets the NSS_ENV_PASSWD_0, NSS_ENV_GROUP_0, and NSS_ENV_SHADOW_0 environment variables, so, in conjunction with libnss-env, the socket should spawn

Does that fix also the ownership issues? So that the socket is owned by the user.

vmlintu: That's what we're working on, yeah. We're making progress.
21:37
<vmlintu>
sbalneav: sounds really good.. anything to test yet?
21:40
<sbalneav>
Not as yet. Stephane and I are hacking away here. The major problem is getting user geometry over early enough. When we're doing the auth, we're root. I somehow have to suck over the user's geometry as root in a way that it'll work for the open_session phase where we want to plumb the socket.
21:47
<vmlintu>
Yep.. Any ideas on that? Some nice trick like storing the user's info in env variables to pass them over?

22:22
<vagrantc>
how many nss and pam modules will we have by the time we're done with this crazy scheme? :)
22:24
sbalneav: is this in addition to libpam-sshauth and libnss-sshsock?
22:33
<sbalneav>
Yup
22:33
vagrantc: Yup :)
22:34
<vagrantc>
sbalneav: how hard is it to autmated configuration of libnss and libpam modules?
22:34
<sbalneav>
Not sure. the authconfig thing might do whay we want.
22:34
<vagrantc>
there's pam-auth-update ...
22:35
dunno about nss
22:35
<sbalneav>
Once I do some more thinking, there may be better ways to do this.
22:35
<vmlintu>
oh, I first got the functionality wrong when I checked it quickly
22:35
<sbalneav>
But, admittedly, I have a couple of beers under my belt. So my thinking's a little fuzzy
22:36

fizzy?
