<vlt>
Hi! Is there a way to change the cursor size for one client machine (based on IP address) only?
11:01
<ZAJDAN>
vlt: just idea....what about: http://wiki.ltsp.org/wiki/Ltsp-localapps
11:01
and via the loacal apps run locally display settings

<ZAJDAN>
alkisg_web: do you have experience with gnome-keyring on thin client?
11:29
will it save password on thin client?
11:30
<alkisg_web>
ZAJDAN: LDM doesn't unlock the gnome keyring and it needs to be unlocked separately, or use a blank password
11:30
Also, some versions had a bug where it produced thousands of temp files on sshfs
11:30
<ZAJDAN>
alkisg: I ask because of: https://github.com/FreeRDP/Remmina/issues/1133
11:31
so I will unistall the plugin

<alkisg_web>
ZAJDAN: i've written a workaround in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=730587
12:03mikkel has joined IRC (mikkel!~mikkel@mail.dlvs.dk)
12:06
<ZAJDAN>
alkisg: but it is just for the sshfs or completely for all about gnome-keyring?
12:07
<alkisg_web>
I've also committed it to LTSP in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ltsp-upstream/ltsp/ltsp/view/head:/client/localapps/ldm-rc.d/X01-localapps, so newer ltsp versions don't have that issue
12:07
I don't understand the question
12:07
LTSP uses sshfs. gnome-keyring has issues with sshfs with the default options. If we use that option, then gnome-keyring has no problem with sshfs.
12:08
So gnome-keyring works fine then
12:08
(except for the automatic unlocking part)
12:10
<ZAJDAN>
aha now I understand ..via sshfs is send the password

<alkisg_web>
vlt: how do you change the cursor size without ltsp?
12:36
It's the same in ltsp too

13:45
<vlt>
alkisg_web: I haven't found out yet :-D I asked because I want to automatically increase the curser size for _all_ users but only on _one_ client machine.
13:45
*cursor
13:49
<alkisg_web>
Ah so the question isn't ltsp related, it's desktop-environment related
13:49
vlt: which desktop environment are you using, and did you ask at your distro/environment irc channel or forums?
13:49
E.g. gnome supports that via a gsetting, *if* users haven't modified it on their own settings
13:50
<vlt>
alkisg_web: Hmmm, I thought it was LTSP-related because I wanted to put something the *client* has to do depending on its IP address. Liek a setting in lts.conf
13:51
alkisg_web: It's Ubuntu MATE.
13:51
<alkisg_web>
alkisg_web: lts.conf settings get translated to configuration of the machines, like xorg.conf, gsettings etc
13:51
So, the first step is to find out how to do it in a normal pc
13:51
<vlt>
alkisg_web: Ok :-)
13:52
<alkisg_web>
Then, IF you want to make an lts.conf option for that, one can write code that transforms the lts.conf setting to local/gnome setting
13:52
Ubuntu MATE uses gsettings, so you can use that
13:53
See for example https://askubuntu.com/questions/126491/how-do-i-change-the-cursor-and-its-size
13:53
Then you need to search the equivalent setting for mate, which should be very easy (just replace gnome with mate), and then you should search for how to specify default or mandatory gsettings
13:54
At that point, you'll be able to do what you want in a normal pc
13:54
When you know what to do in a normal pc, and you don't know how to do it in ltsp, you can ask here again :)
13:55
In general default gsettings overrides go to /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
