Hello All! Kurt (an LTSP developer) spent several hours assisting me with an LTSP implementation over the weekend, which ended in success, however the screen on the terminals are going blank after about 5 minues, which locks the RDP session. As we are in a multi-user windows environment, this means that workstation is inaccessible to anyone other than that windows user....I'm sure I can specify something in LTS.conf, but I can't find an
19:08
So, long story short, I need to disable whatever is causing the screen to turn off after x minutes, since it sends a lock signal to the windows terminal server

Hello?

Hi!
19:18

19:18
Well, now that I'm awake
19:18
Check X_BLANKING in lts.conf
19:18
<us3598>
okey doke, one moment
19:19
should it be set to 0 or 1
19:20
<Hyperbyte>
!lts.conf
19:20
<ltsp>
lts.conf: (#1) http://manpages.ubuntu.com/lts.conf, or (#2) lts.conf manpage is available in the ltsp-docs package
19:21
<us3598>
Well it is already set to 0, so my next guess would be something in x?
19:22
The setup basically is pxe to rdesktop

<us3598>
or I can just copy and paste my forum question: I very recently moved a doctors office using Windows Server 2008 over to a diskless thin-client environment using LTSP on an Ubuntu 14.04 VM as a passthrough. One of the original developers of LTSP assisted with this integration, so I know the code is right.
22:09
While the clients are booting as they should via RDesktop, the screen blanks after ~5min, causing the RDP session to lock, only allowing the logged on MS user to get back in. This causes HUGE problems since all the workstations are accessible by all employees.I am sure this not a Server 08 issue as I have checked and rechecked the applicable GPOs and registry items.I have checked lts.conf and X_BLANKING=0
22:10
So I'm stuck. I have a feeling I need to chroot into the ltsp install and modify something, but 1: I don't know what; and 2: I would REALLY like to avoid rebuilding the image if I can help it
22:12
<vagrantc>
don't know much about RDP, but i've definitely heard reports of issues like this
22:16
<us3598>
hmm, so no ideas on this subject, eh?
22:17
<vagrantc>
search the ltsp-discuss mailing list
22:20
<us3598>
no luck on there
22:20
<vagrantc>
it's certainly been brought up there.
22:24
<us3598>
ah, probably because I wasn't on the mailing list....where is it at?
22:24
<vagrantc>
https://www.mail-archive.com/ltsp-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net/
22:27
<us3598>
I'll keep searching, but generally same results...the widely suggested fix is for 12.04 gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen 'true'
22:27
But gsettings isn't in 14.04
22:36
<vagrantc>
dconf, maybe?
