I have jetpipe not starting on a thin client, despite the patches that where made. Looked at the script (ltsp-client) and it should start, but doesn't. If I start is manually with "jetpipe /dev/usb/lp1 9100" is starts without a hitch. How can I troubleshoot this?
08:38
I don't want it to start on all the clients of course, otherwise I could just add it to /etc/rc.local
08:39
Does ltsp-client have any logging that happens? I can't see anything, but maybe the authors know more? :-)
08:40
Or should I file a bug report?

vsuojanen: you're missing the module for the card
18:44
<vsuojanen>
3.5.0-45-generic, /opt/ltsp/amd64, I try to copy and init the wlan driver in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/wlan from these locations /lib/firmware/RTL8192SE, /lib/firmware/rtlwifi
18:45
<alkisg>
But, I think you should start with what are you trying to do... load ltsp over wifi? and, check if it's worth it...
18:46
<vmlintu>
vsuojanen: do you have the actual wlan driver module from /lib/modules in your initramfs?
18:46
<vsuojanen>
yes. load small kernel and initramfs from local (usb) and mount rest from the ltsp-server
18:47
<alkisg>
Are you the same person that was asking about the same thing here a week ago?
18:47
<vsuojanen>
nope :)
18:47
<alkisg>
OK, in short, the local initrd needs to match /lib/modules/<kernel-version/* from the server
18:48
<vsuojanen>
how can I test that the modules get to the initramfs that I am loading
18:48
<alkisg>
So when you update the kernel on the server, you also need to update the client initrd
18:48
<vsuojanen>
I amdd confused are they loaded from the chroot or should they exist in the initramfs
18:48
<alkisg>
So if you'll be updating the client initrd periodically, why not just copy the nbd image instead, which is already supported...
18:48
