now just for curiosity I want to ask something that I didn't find on the online doc
07:28
well, the answer is: the kernel included in the ltsp server is a special kernel from ltsp installation or it takes the kernel from the host machine?

hi, i've got a small question - is there any way for enabling sound for flash apps on terminal (sound works in any other app)

<filorp>
I have an easy question - should I use the file lts.conf in ltsp 5 for configuration?
07:49
as well ltsp 4.x
07:51
<ogra>
filorp, you can use lts.conf in ltsp5 but unlike the 4.x series this file is used to override the autodetected values and do fine tuning ... in 4.x it was needed for a lot more stuff
07:52
filorp, ltsp-build-client builds the client environment from the packages of your distro ... so you will have the kernel version that was the latest for your distro when you ran that script
07:53
killsalad, which distro ?
07:53
and release
07:53
<killsalad>
ogra: Xubuntu 7.04 ltsp5
07:54

<filorp>
ok ogra, so I can use the same sintax for lts.conf in ltsp 4 as well in ltsp 5, in my case for client video resolution ?
07:57
<ogra>
filorp, see the docs in /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/doc/ltsp-client-core/examples/
07:57
<filorp>
ok
07:57
<ogra>
or if you have an olddr version of ltsp5 /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/doc/ltsp-client/examples/
07:58
there is a table with supported values
07:58
and an example file

ooooh. bulgarian translation: Създаване на обкръжение за LTSP

16:02

hey
16:04
hmm
16:06
sounds like a few tweaks to the udev rules, but I don't know how we'd make it optional
16:06
<vagrantc>
hm.
16:07
that's basically what i was thinking ... i definitely like that i can boot a thin client and get access to the hard drive ... but i can see that that's not always the desired behavior.

vagrantc: btw, any ideas on debuging that etherboot unit I mentioned the other night that stalls during a framebuffer change?
17:10
<vagrantc>
nope
17:10
it's a curious bug
17:13
<Gadi>
i only have a few mins, but... Q-FUNK, was that with a geode?
17:13
I have had to blacklist gxfb for a geode unit
17:14
<Q-FUNK>
Gadi: old Geode. SC2200.
17:14
<Gadi>
and even then, usplash doesnt want to die after ltsp-client
17:14
so, I boot without splash
17:14
...fornow...
17:14
<Q-FUNK>
usplash is a pita even outside ltsp world
17:14
<Gadi>
try blacklisting gxfb
17:15
<Q-FUNK>
Gadi: which distro and release?
17:15
<Gadi>
any of the ubuntus
17:15
at least
17:15
ltsp, that is
17:15
<Q-FUNK>
ah. I'm running this on Debian Etch.
17:15
<Gadi>
could be same
17:15
i doubt it is distro dependent
17:15
<Q-FUNK>
no usplash on debian ltsp
17:16
<Gadi>
even better
17:16
<Q-FUNK>
yup
17:16
<Gadi>
try just blacklisting gxfb
17:16
in $CHROOT/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
17:17
<Q-FUNK>
or in this case gx1fb
17:17
<Gadi>
what does debian use for splash?
17:17
splashy?
17:17
<Q-FUNK>
no splash whatsoever
