<Pascal_1>
hello
07:38
i've got a question about pam_mount, it's not a channel for that but i cant find one about pam_mount, as ltsp can be used with pam_mount ...... can I ?
07:39
<alkisg>
You can ask here, yes, but the best suited channel would be your distro channel
07:40
<Pascal_1>
well i try here then
07:40
my problem is the following, when i use pam_mount to mount cifs share at login, files owner are not well displayed
07:41
all files are owned by the user wich log in
07:41
in fact some file are owned by other user
07:41
what is the way to make pam_mount display well owners ?
07:41
<Hyperbyte>
Pascal_1, you're using cifs to mount a share from a Windows machine?
07:42
<Pascal_1>
no debian client mounting share from a samba server
07:42
may be i'm not really clear.. my english is not so good
07:42
<Hyperbyte>
Yes, and this Samba server is a Windows machine?
07:42
<Pascal_1>
?? no a debian server
07:43
<Hyperbyte>
If you're mounting from Linux to Linux, use NFS.
07:43
CIFS is for interfacing with Windows.
07:44
<Pascal_1>
but i already have samba server for all the others windows machine, then i would like to use same service for linux machine
07:44
<Hyperbyte>
Pascal_1, that may seem easiest, yes, but it's not.
07:45
NFS is easy to set up, you should try it.

wondering if this could be a perfect very cheap thin client: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mele-1080p-android-2-3-internet-tv-set-top-box-w-wifi-optical-3-x-usb-hdmi-av-lan-sd-119913
15:48
seems is much more powerful than Rapsberry PI and still cheap (70$ 100$)
15:49
and should be usable with all Free (as in freedom) drivers
15:49
<vagrantc>
that would be nice.
15:49* vagrantc has been looking for a good arm-based thin client
15:52
<markit>
vagrantc: http://liliputing.com/2012/03/mele-a1000-is-a-70-hackable-linux-friendly-arm-based-pc.html
15:53
seems that the problem is... being able to buy one! A chineese reseller is said takes your money but "never" delivers (or really "slowly")
15:53
<vagrantc>
ouch
15:54

maybe with 1GB ram could also act as Fat client, don't really know how fast those cips performs

16:18

oh, ssh-hostchecker, you're evil.
16:19
it allows MITM attacks if you have multiple servers :(
16:19* vagrantc intends to make it configurable, but not today

Hi - I'm playing with LTSP for the first time. I've got to the point where I can get a log in screen but when I try an login I just get the message "INVALID CARD NUMBER" and then it returns to the login screen. All I can find with Google is other people asking this question and not getting an answer. Anyone know how to fix this?
