Can I mount additional directories via sshfs during login, on top of the users' home dir?
09:07
LOCAL_APPS_EXTRAMOUNTS. Ok, thanks guys!
09:08
Funny how I'm coming here to get advice from the LTSP Oracle that is alkisg and then after a bit more Googling I find his divine words on a mailing list telling me exactly what I need to know. <3

<BuddyButterfly>
hi
14:26
<alkisg>
Hello BuddyButterfly
14:26
<BuddyButterfly>
long time no hear ;-) This is because ltsp is running so stable and so long!
14:27
have a little question regarding system upgrade of the ltsp. Currently have a Ubuntu xenial running. Want to upgrade to bionic. Is it as easy as just doing the upgrade and then a cleanup and everything is fine?
14:27
hi alkisg!
14:27
<alkisg>
BuddyButterfly: are you using the greek schools ppa?
14:28
<BuddyButterfly>
alkisg: let me check...
14:28
If I remember correctly, then yes.
14:28
...let me check.
14:28
<alkisg>
BuddyButterfly: it will be ready for 18.04 in September
14:29
Until then, LTSP in 18.04 has known issues, e.g. client dns, clients not shutting down etc
14:29
<BuddyButterfly>
alkisg: I guess this is it: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ts.sch.gr/ppa/ubuntu xenial main
14:29
<alkisg>
Yup

alkisg: yeah, tnx for link. But why subscribe if ther is an alkisg answering precisely in 15s? ;-)
14:32
<alkisg>
Hehe
14:33
<BuddyButterfly>
alkisg: Tnx a lot and keep on good work! It really works nice. Running it in a VM and handle it via my central dhcp server.
14:33
<alkisg>
Great
14:34
<BuddyButterfly>
I re-used some old clients and ripped off the old platters! Just booting into ltsp. Really cool! HW does not matter anymore. If its gone, just replace ;-)
14:35
(...the client hw)
14:35
No reinstall, no hassle, just CPU and RAM :-)
14:37
alkisg: cu, and agn tnx....

<BuddyButterfly>

<gbaman>
Ahhh, that might explain some of the random issues I have been having then, am currently testing PiNet with 18.04. Issues with 18.04 clients or even just an 18.04 server alkisg?

<nehemiah>
Blueman forgets the paired devices after reboot. Is anybody familiar with this problem and have a solution? I'm on Xenial using ltsp-manager.
19:33
<vagrantc>
that's a bluetooth manager?
19:36
<nehemiah>
Yes, correct.
19:36
blutooth manager
19:43
<alkisg>
nehemiah: you need to see where it saves the paired devices, e.g. in /var
19:49
You may also try to pair it on the server, and then run ltsp-update-image
19:49
<nehemiah>
I see, and that doesn't stick after a reboot.

<nehemiah>
Could I theoretically, create a sym link from the users home directory to /var/lib/bluetooth on login?
19:55
In order to fix said issue.
19:55
That would mean there has to be a login script that runs as root I guess.
20:05nehemiah has left IRC (nehemiah!~nehemiah@hs-user-138.wia.cz, Ping timeout: 276 seconds)

<||cw>
might be cleaner to put /var/lib/bluetooth on nfs or something. not sure what it'll do with multiple clients running off the same folder...

<alkisg>
Pairing sounds like a user-specific thing anyway; why would another user want to pair with my phone?
20:33
So, a symlink to the user's home sounds fine...
