mmm, autologin
12:47
that's something i need.
12:47
i had to hack the python ldm to give that functionality
12:48
<johnny>
the developer of ldm2 has autologin working
12:48
but many other folks do not
12:48
and the patch isn't integrated upstream
12:49

yes

excellent. i need to install ubuntu to a box and build me a new chroot.
12:51
<johnny>
hopefully there will be an update for gutsy, the patch just needs to be slimmed
12:51
but my C is mostly poor
12:51
<loather-work>
my C is excellent. A little rusty these days from lack of use, but I used to be fluent.

13:49
<Gadi>
mattwalston: sounds like the initramfs cannot find your rootfs
13:49
what distro?
13:52
ahh... I scrolled up - looks like you are on amd64 but building an i386 chroot
13:52
chances are you built that i386 chroot second
13:52
and my guess is that your dhcpd.conf file still points to an amd64 chroot
13:53
so, check /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf and make sure references are to: /ltsp/i386/pxelinux.0
13:53
and not: /ltsp/amd64/pxelinux.0
13:54
then, restart dhcp

yeah
14:04

and, ps -ale|grep nbd

now this machine has xinetd
14:06
<Gadi>
ah, that could be the problem
14:07
did you uninstall inetd?
14:07
you should use one or the other - not both

<Gadi>
or just more comfortable with it?
14:08
<mattwalston>
no
14:08
<Gadi>
nah
14:08
tftp will run out of inetd
14:08
after you remove xinetd, restart inetd
14:08
then, reboot the client
14:09
<mattwalston>
ok
14:10
it is doing more
14:12
it booted
14:12
thanks
14:13
<rance1>
Id like to setup ltsp in a lab setting for testing, problem is that the lab already has a working dhcp/pxe/tfpd environment complete with scripts that launch diskwipers, memtest, etc via the network, how hard would it be to integrate ltsp into that environment as a boot option from one of the menus?
14:13
I should say that dhcp/dns/tftp is all provided by dnsmasq in the lab
14:15
<mattwalston>

14:36
check the ldm bugs on launchpad.net
