<joshu>
vmlintu I got PAM and freerdp using shm_askpass as you explained to me a few days ago 90% working. Only thing is that pam_exec executes the script /usr/share/lightdm/freerdp-auth which just does /usr/bin/shm_askpass --write
02:42
then the /usr/share/xsessions/ubuntu.desktop Exec=/usr/share/lightdm/freerdp-session. This freerdp-session script gets the PASS=$(shm_askpass), but unfortunately not the $PAM_USER.
02:44
I've looked at this script from your ltsp project, but I'm not sure how I can start the ubuntu.desktop session from the freerdp-auth script or if there is some other way of passing the user to the freerdp-session script.

<FrozenZia>
Morning all -- trying to use my LTSP server as a tftp-server in general and wonder if anyone knows how I can verify whether or not it supports >32M file sizes?
09:57
alternatively, if I've set up ltsp-pnp, then which directory is considered the "root"? /var/lib/tftpboot/?
09:57
<joshu>
vmlintu do the scripts need to be owned by lightdm ?
09:58
<vmlintu>
joshu: it needs to be able to run them
10:05
<joshu>
vmlintu I think I've got it. Can you please take a look at what I've done. https://gist.github.com/anonymous/6873458f66cc139da6ed
10:25
<Hyperbyte>
FrozenZia, how to verify if it supports large files: put a large file in the tftp directory and download it.
10:26
FrozenZia, tftp root directory: /etc/default/tftpd-hpa
10:26
(that's not the directory, but the config file where the directory is configured)
10:31
<FrozenZia>
Hyperbyte: yeah, I found mention of that somewhere, but I seem to have no such file. Seems I have tftp-hpa installed, but no tftpd. Remember I have ltsp-pnp, so not sure how much that differs from the "norm".
10:43
my client boots up and tells me that TFTP prefix is /tftp/i386
10:44
my 01-MAC-ADDR files I'm using are located in /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.cfg
10:44
...and e.g. my DBAN image is located in /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/
10:48
I'm trying to boot Parted Magic, which has good PXE instructions, and tells me to place the proper "pmagic" directory into the "PXE directory root"

<FrozenZia>
Client gets an IP address and gets the right file and starts looking for pmagic/bzImage
10:57
...just doesn't find it, seemingly no matter where in the directory structure I place it.
10:58
<Hyperbyte>
FrozenZia, dnsmasq is providing your tftp if you're using ltsp-pnp.
10:59
<FrozenZia>
file permissions are 755 for that image, ownership root:root for the image, and the same for the directories they're in.
10:59
<Hyperbyte>
If you need help with pmagic and dnsmasq, I suggest you try pmagic support channels.
10:59
<FrozenZia>
Hyperbyte: ok, thanks, will do that...

got it working, btw. No idea what was wrong. Didn't seem to be a file size limit issue, and the pmagic folder needed to be just where I thought.

i'm trying to read the XML spec.. and starting to think that this is not a good idea
12:43
<bennabiy>
XML = Vast beast
12:43
Simple, but vast
12:44
<workingcats>
simple? simple?
12:44
the spec is over 40 pages on a maximised browser at 1920*1080
12:44
<bennabiy>
As far as the concept of it.
12:44
<workingcats>
and it appears to be written by lawyers
12:44
the idea is simple
12:44
and good!
12:45
but the resulting spec is a bad joke
12:45

not for the encrypted drive issue
12:52

well to patch it, you know, patch it and install the patched version ;)

I have a modified greeter.c file, but do not have the source for ldm to recompile it
12:54
<workingcats>
what distro?
12:54
actually doesnt matter since i dont know the command for any (except gentoo, where you wouldnt be asking the question)
12:55
but debian at least has a command to install the sources for a package
12:55
deb-src or something?
12:55
i assume rpm distros have something equivalent
12:55
<||cw>
if debian based, make sure you have the src repos then apt-get source packagename
12:56
<bennabiy>
It is mint mate
12:56
15
12:57
but the LDM is ubuntu 13.04 based
12:57
