does anyone know why chromium-browser will not automatically launch as a localapp from the .desktop item?
01:57
all my other localapps do it automagically
01:59
I modified the .desktop item to include ltsp-localapps chromium-browser
01:59
and that works... as long as I am not using the server of course
02:00
do i need to enclose the ltsp-localapps "chromium-browser --enable-plugins --enable-user-scripts --enable-extentions"
02:01
in order to get the command line options to load?
02:05
is it possible to get a vnc session on one of the SCREENS_X?

<bart2>
hi im booting a fat client, but in the login it says, home folder not found, can anyone help me?
09:02
<alkisg>
bart2: how did you make the fat client image?
09:03
<bart2>
I just downloaded nubae's script, and from terminal ltsp-build-client --chroot fati386 Ubuntu
09:04
It always says, Your home directory appears to be /home/bart but it does not appear to exist...
09:04
<alkisg>
ok... I just asked to ping nubae, if he's around :) nubae, ^^^ :)
09:06
<bart2>
thanks, I already did my homework, and there was even one time I was successful logging in, but the Fat client couldn't save files in his home folder
09:06
I ran the command ltsp-update-image -a fati386 then the problem is back!
09:07
<NeonLicht>
bart2, perhaps you need to NFS export /home to the fat client IP address on the server?
09:08
<bart2>
yes i did that also like this one? /home 192.168.2.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,async)
09:13
this home folder that I'm missing, it's located at /home/ right? not in /opt/ltsp/fati386/home right?
09:14
<alkisg>
Can you get a shell on the fat client, and run "mount" to see if home was mounted?
09:14
(I've never seen nubae's script running, so don't take anything I say too seriously :D)
09:16
<bart2>
ok thanks
09:17
I pressed Alt+Ctrl+F1: No Directory Logging With Home=/
09:17
I was able to login using my bart username account
09:17
I typed mount
09:18
rootfs on /
09:18
none on sys
09:18
<alkisg>
Just the home part... is it there?
09:19
<bart2>
I can't see any /home
09:19
<alkisg>
Also, check on /etc/fstab
09:20
If you don't see it anywhere, try to mount it manually and see if that works. If it does, at least you'll know that everything's ok and it's a small glitch somewhere. If it doesn't, it may e.g. tell you that you don't have nfs-common installed or something...

Yeah, I got disconnected but I was given an idea to mount my NFS home folder properly on my FAT clients, do you have any more ideas? Coz my home folders are not mounting upon fat client login

hello everyone
10:49
does ltsp server support xdmcp?
10:50
plz, help me
10:51
<alkisg>
chugaistr: you mean the clients?
10:51
Please elaborate, what do you want to do?
10:52
<chugaistr>
i have a xdmcp client(encore), and i want to connect it to ltsp server
10:52
<alkisg>
OK. You can connect an xdmcp client to another machine if you e.g. allow it from gdmsetup.
10:52
This has *nothing* to do with ltsp, though...
10:52
I mean, it doesn't matter if it's an ltsp server or a simple standalone pc...
10:53
What distro/version is this?
10:53
<chugaistr>
fedora 11
10:54
<alkisg>
Is that with gnome? if so, just run gdmsetup and allow remote connections

vagrantc: "question" is if you have a question about ltsp, please go ahead and ask it, and people will respond if they can. please also mention the linux distro and release you're using. :)
15:30
<vagrantc>
doh.
15:33
i wonder if we shouldn't at least put something similar into topic?
15:47
<Ryan52>
anybody who's going to be asking questions like that probably won't read the topic anyway.
15:51
<vagrantc>
if it helps twice, it's worth it.
