ok, xdm works w/o fail
00:40
sorry ldm and nbd, you don't make the grade
00:46
<alkisg>
vagrantc: what dir are you usually exporting with nfs? the whole /opt/ltsp? i.e. can the client mount /opt/ltsp/images/i386.img over NFS without changes to /etc/exports?
00:55alkisg has left IRC (alkisg!~alkisg@ubuntu/member/alkisg, Remote host closed the connection)
01:08
<vagrantc>
alkisg: yeah, all of /opt/ltsp is typically exported
01:10* vagrantc wonders what centos has done to make ldm so unuseable

==Hi alkisg, can I get yourr quick opinion? I have an ltsp set up at my office (edubuntu ltsp) and need a couple more thinclients. What do you think would be the best/most compatible thinclient out there for ltsp right now?
15:40
<alkisg>
No idea, here we only use old desktops as thin clients. When we buy new ones, we go for ltsp *fat* clients...
15:41
<Sparky614>
Ah, thank you!
15:42
BTW, I picked up a lot of HP DC7800 SFFs off of Ebay last year and they work great for that purpose. I just think they're overkill for the other units I need which will be in a work room and a conference room
15:43
I was looking for something 64bit in more of a $30 - $75 price range.
15:44
I got lucky and picked up the HP DC7800s in a "lot" at a really good price
15:44
Anyway, thanks and have a good weekend!

Hello
15:52
Test?
15:54
<alkisg>
The test was successful :)
15:55
<RL600>
Awosome, am I in the right place to ask a question
15:55
<alkisg>
It depends... if it's ltsp related, sure, if it's about politics, I doubt it... :D
15:56
<RL600>
Don't worry it will only relate to ltsp! So this is my question.
15:57
I know about ltsp for 30 minutes now and it seems to be really cool. I want to setup a basic system with ubuntu and ltsp. Can I run windows from it too? So the thin client is an windows pc and the server is ubuntu
15:58
<alkisg>
You can netboot a client with ltsp + linux, and then have xfreerdp ran automatically on it, to connect to a windows server you have somewhere, even in a vm...
16:00
<RL600>
What is xfreerdp?\
16:01
<alkisg>
It's a remote desktop client for linux
16:01
Like mstsc.exe in windows
16:02
It's preinstalled in edubuntu/ltsp...
16:03
<RL600>
A alright . So I install ubuntu (by the way is ubuntu the best choice??) and ltsp do I need the windows server??
16:03
I mean is it necessary
16:19
<alkisg>
Yes, to use windows you need the windows server, or windows VMs

<Greavette>
Hello, I'm looking for assistance. With setting up a minimal ltsp server. I'll be using berryterminal on raspberry pictures to connect to the ltsp session. Once connected I would want to autostart rdesktop to connect to another computer. Our network already has a dhcp server. Berryterminal will not pxe boot and will be assigned an update from our dhcp server. Could someone point me in the right direction of how to setup this ltsp
20:12
Sorry, autocorrect changed some words on me. I'm using a raspberry pi with berryterminal. The pi will get an update from our routers dhcp server.
20:16
The pi will get an IP from our routers dhcp server.
20:18
Any help or tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
