alkisg: https://git.launchpad.net/sch-scripts/commit/?id=52ecc0cbe84272310a292d6f47e2e4857b2ba441 Wouldn't it be better to use with open("/proc/mounts") as f: for l in f: ... here? that way the file is correctly closed...
08:00
<alkisg>
enaut[m]: indeed
08:05
<enaut[m]>
alkisg: Also I think python3-twisted is missing from the depends - in debian/control - at least for me I needed to install it.
08:06
<alkisg>
enaut[m]: you are right, it works for us here because we also install epoptes which pulls twisted; I need to correct those two issues, thanks!

09:40
<Helenah>
hmm
09:40
Does the NFS server have available to it the LTSP server root dir?
09:41
I know /home is mounted to /home on the clients via NFS
09:45
<alkisg>
Did you configure it to /etc/exports?
09:46
<Helenah>
hmm
09:47
That doesn't appear to exist on my LTSP server.
09:47
I'm gonna read up on exports
09:48
Yeah, sounds like it needs to be on the LTSP server, or any server to be used for NFS.
09:49
alkisg: I did locate on the server (not chroots), and there is no /etc/exports, however according to a Red Hat guide, it sounds like it has to be there for NFS to work.
09:56
Wait, interesting the mount command can be used. alkisg Is LTSP using the mount command instead for mounting the NFS home directories?

Helenah: you can use whatever you like in ltsp to mount things. FSTAB_xx lts.conf directives, RCFILE_xx lts.conf directives, or whatever else you prefer

alkisg: Welcome back!
12:46
So if LTSP uses NFS for the home directories, then where is this set?
12:46
<alkisg>
eh, not really :D I think I'll be back in 4 hours
12:46
LTSP uses sshfs
12:46
and nbd
12:46
Not nfs by default

<Helenah>
I noticed that, so now I know what it's using sshfs for.
12:53
Hi guys, there is little information on the WWW which talks about the inner clockwork of LTSP.
12:54
Therefore, I am now struggling to find information in regards to have LTSP manages sshfs mountpoints such as user home directories.

alkisg: Welcome back!
18:48
<alkisg>
Hi Helenah_
18:49
<Helenah_>
How does LTSP manage sshfs?
18:49
<alkisg>
How big is life? :)
18:49
<Helenah_>
I can't find where the home dirs are set
18:49
<alkisg>
That's a very general question
18:49
<Helenah_>
How is large, massive like the universe
18:49
<alkisg>
What are you trying to do and what problems are you having?
18:50
The home dirs in unix are set in /etc/passwd
18:50
<Helenah_>
With LTSP using sshfs for the home directories, I wanted to adopt the same method for mounting other dirs.
18:50
<alkisg>
!lts.conf
18:50
<ltsp>
lts.conf: (#1) http://manpages.ubuntu.com/lts.conf, or (#2) lts.conf manpage is available in the ltsp-docs package
18:50
<alkisg>
See LOCAL_APPS_EXTRAMOUNTS there
18:51
<Helenah_>
Aaaah
18:51
<alkisg>
See, if the question is to the point, the answer is to the point too :)
18:51
<Helenah_>
Is there no REMOTE_APPS_EXTRAMOUNTS?
18:52
Or have I missed it?
18:52
<alkisg>
What would that mean? To mount a thin client local disk remotely to the server?
18:52
<Helenah_>
To mount a disk on the server, on a fat client via sshfs. I can adopt EXTRAMOUNTS for my thin clients.
18:53
<alkisg>
The client has a local internal disk?
18:53
<Helenah_>
The fat client? No.
18:54
<alkisg>
This is LOCAL_APPS_EXTRAMOUNT then
18:54
It mounts dirs from the server to the clients
18:54
<Helenah_>
Nice, and that will definately work for fat clients too?
18:54
<alkisg>
Yes
18:54
<Helenah_>
Thanks
19:17
I'm not sure I'm understanding EXTRAMOUNTS, I set LOCAL_APPS_EXTRAMOUNTS="/srv/common/", and I assumed it would mount /srv/common/ on the server to /srv/common/ on the thin or fat client...
19:19
In the man page it says "thin client", but I wasn't sure if the man page was more correct, or you.
19:27
I tried removing the quotes too.

20:31
<alkisg>
Helenah_: does that dir exist on the client?
20:32
Helenah_: try this in lts.conf: INIT_COMMAND_MKDIRS="mkdir -p /srv/common"
