I tried asking elsewhere, so I'm going to ask him, it's regarding nbd.
How do I fix this issue? https://pastebin.com/raw/zf4GUJ20
just a guess, but mismatch in versions? sounds like the ltsp server has a newer version of nbd than the clients
Helenah: you're following ancient documentation, that uses port 2000 instead of 10809 (not defining a port, it's the default)
alkisg: Okay, I changed the port
mwalters: Same issue, same protocol versions
Okay, lets try newstyle
Helenah: you must NOT specify a port
I left it default now
Is this normal ltsp, or something unrelated?
I was just asking an nbd related question. As for now, I'll go back to my own devices. Thank you
No worries, I was just trying to understand the configuration involved
To be honest, I'm trying to create my own client server from the ground up to get a full fledged understanding of how the different applications work together.
alkisg: This is what I do, I pull at strings.
I'm still not understanding how to use the newstyle protocol
Aaaah, so if the server sees a configuration it doesn't understand, it closes the connection thereafter? I'll remember that.
I had to use the ip directive because nbd insisted on using IPv6 only.
Weird intermittent issue with (some?) clients: All their windows close and they can't reopen anything until they log out and log back in (thin client setup)... had noticed it on my client a couple times, at least one other user reporting the issue. Can't find anything notable in the syslog

Unity with thin clients? I doubt it. Maybe it's ubuntu mate?

plain old gnome
Gnome 2 doesn't exist in Ubuntu 14.04
Maybe you mean gnome-flashback, which uses gtk3
Anyway, not much info to help here :/
derp, I can never keep the "Looks like old gnome"s straight
probably, about to take off for the day. I'll check more tomorrow
