anybody from K12? anyone had success adding gnomemenus in ICEWM?
in debian there is an icewm-gnome-support package which enables things like the gnome menu and other features.

sep, I try lpq -P name_printer but returns "nameprinter is ready..." "no entries."
sep, then if no have jobs, no cancel !
sep sorry my english, i am from brazil and us language here is portuguese ! :p
i may have heard of a special spanish ltsp channel...but am not sure and cant remember channel-name..

EversonCaratti:you can always use lpq -a to show jobs..lprm - to remove all jobs or kill emm individually with lprm 2301 (for example)
cliebow_, i'm tryed all choices of lpq/lprm and cups browser interface, but only I restart cupsys to stop printer sended to spool !
hmmm.that is strange..this in debian?
cliebow_, yes, debian sarge
cliebow_, I like a debian-br-cdd (distro based on debian sarge).
cliebow_, I have googled but no found any information about this problem !
perhaps some of the other guys will chime in..

Hi, please I need help to access a floppy at client. I used ltsp 4.0 until last week, for 2 years, and to access a local floppy I used smb://nobody@wsXX/floppy , but now I don't know what I have to do !!! Anyone can help me?
I've already read the LTSP 4.2 Local Device support.
I follow the steps, but what I have to do to access the floppy ?
Have you installed fuse, and ltspfs and all that?
sbalvneav: yes, I get the fuse and compile.
sbalneav: at prompt I type ltspf and the TAB key, and the command ltspfs auto-complete !
What kind of server are you using?
If you've installed things correctly, then just look in $HOME/drives, and it should be there.
|11:05||prpplague has quit IRC|
|11:06||prpplague has joined #ltsp|
sbalneav: It's a Red Hat Enterprise 4.0
ok, so do you have a $HOME/drives directory?
|11:07||Avatara has quit IRC|
sbalneav: I do it at a text console or a graphic console?
graphics is fine.
sbalneav: I'm using KDE 3.3, and at my local files (konqueror) I don't have the drives directory!
ok, so you haven't set it up properly then.
sbalneav: "checklist" is The checklist for debugging problems with local device access is at http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/LTSP-42-LocalDev#Troubleshooting. Please work through all 12 steps, record the results, and paste the results to the pastebot at http://pastebot.ltsp.org
Work through that checklist
sbalneav: is there any file to monitor the logs?
Sure, read the checklist
there's a whole bunch of information on there, a step by step process to get it going.
sbalneav: ok, I follow the steps and I note that I don't have the /tmp/drivers directory!
sbalneav: but I have the lbuscd running.
sbalneav: I have the correct hostname (ws3) too !
Why don't you complete all the steps, and mail me the complete results, step by step, to email@example.com
sbalneav: at lts.conf I just write the line: LOCAL_STORAGE = Y
sbalneav: the #cat /etc/version show me "4.2 update 3"
no, not here
write them in an email, send them to me all at once.
Gadi, pong ...
so, I have started putting stock edgy LTSP through some testing hoops - have you ever looked at video performance of edgyLTSP vs LTSP 4.2?
now, granted, I need to come up to speed a bit on all the other video/framebuffer related stuff that Ubuntu loads,
and i totally dont have the time atm to discuss it ... i'm packing and sorting travel stuff for flying to poland tomorrow morning ... can we talk about it next week ?
but, I am finding on a few different pieces of client hardware a video hit as compared to 4.2
sure - have a safe trip
is poland a vacation?
Gadi: You doing the ssh tunneling?
sbalneav: I have been experimenting with both ldm video and xdmcp
both seem to be worse than on a 4.2 box
I am working on tracking it down
as I know that a lot of the work is done on vmware
I figured these kinds of things may escape some testing
Gadi, nope, meeting with some EU folks that are intreasted in basing on edubuntu

hi guys.. anyone here using rdesktop on LTSP?
is it possible to open just a windows app, without showing the windows desktop?
rdesktop -s <shell> -c <directory>
ClaudioFelix, I am !
hey gadi :) whassup ?
hmm.. i tried that already gadi.. but it opened up the whole desktop
let me try again
it can take some fiddling to get all the backslashes right
are you from Brazil too? :)
and put quotes around the whole thing
ClaudioFelix, rdesktop -g 980x650 ip.of.windows.server -k pt-br -T window_title -u username -p password -a 16
Gadi.. i tried it enclosed in single quotes
just change it to double?
EversonCaratti: I hope ur not worried about security ;)
for opening just windows explorer, for example, i tried this
rdesktop IP -c "c:\windows" -s "explorer.exe"
but it opened up the desktop instead :(
like a clean rdesktop..
try: "rdesktop -c C:\\windows -s explorer.exe <IP>"
or: "rdesktop -c 'C:\\windows' -s 'explorer.exe' <IP>"
also, you may need the full path to the executable
try it on a fat client or the server first
to get the syntax
i'm on the server now
and dont use explorer
use notepad.exe to test
explorer is the desktop
could it be because i'm trying to access a windows XP desktop?
instead of terminal services?
try: rdesktop -c C:\\windows -s notepad.exe <IP>
that worked forme
hmm.. not here :(
the only different thing i supplied were the user credentials
with -u user -p -
hmm.. seems like windows is defined in caps
too busy now?
we wanted to talk to you about that BSA stuff..
ClaudioFelix: get my pm?
im talking to you there
not coming thru
perhaps you are not registered on freenode
i forgot to identify on the nickserver

|14:21||sep has quit IRC|
must be perms
cron must run as user cron
|14:24||egypcio has joined #ltsp|
cliebow_: be careful with how you name it too, I have found cron to not like some characters in the name
keep the name of the script simple (like a single word)
