Could I possible link my AD domain gorups to Linux system groups. I mean like "domain^users" would belong to "fuse" and "domain^admins" would belong to "sudo"

<johnny>
LTSPTNK, probably
04:53
look up active directory
04:53
errldap
04:54
LTSPTNK, try another channel, specifically for your distro
04:54
to get that part worked out, you'll get quicker help that way
04:55
<LTSPTNK>
oki :)

obviously for ltsp specfiic questions you can ask here :)
05:10
and even the ldap questions.. it's just that not everybody here does that kinda setup
05:10
so you have to be here at just the right time
05:18
<LTSPTNK>
I have seen it, I'm not in hurry, will take sometime before our forest supervisors get me the Schema extension for AD domain and our homefolders mounted to nfs server (now they are on windows specified and Samba inst that good for home folders)
05:19
But the problem it that, while ppl log in to ltsp client via ssh, the credentials are forwarded to likewise-winbind and it authenticates them against the AD domain
05:19
but I should get them somehow to members of some groups by default, for example fuse

LTSPTNK, sounds feasible
05:39
<LTSPTNK>
that would be easy if I bought the all mighty Likewise-enterprise schema extension for AD domain, but it costs like hell :(

LTSPTNK, guess that is what you get for relying on proprietary software
05:59
check into samba4.. it can do alot. so you know what you can expect to be able to do eventually :)
05:59
i heard it can act as a domain controller
05:59
a primary one
05:59
remmeber.. active diretory is just a modified ldap
05:59
which is a completely open standard
05:59
<LTSPTNK>
:D omg, will get back to it at monday, now starts my weekend :)
05:59
<johnny>
also.. check out novell and redhat directory services

Hi , I have a stupid question , I installed iptraf inside my chroot and have setup ssh access , I have set LDM_DIRECTX=True in lts.conf , when I run iptraf on the terminal all traffic is on port 22 (ssh) is this correct , I thought that the traffic was not encrypted when LDM_DIRECTX was set ?

Hi. Have you tried to use hostnames ( i.e. "[client1]") instead of mac addresses to create thin client special sections in lts.conf ? Can't get it working.
