04:36
<asmok>
this s first time i run this kind of problem, but this in now first time 64 server as a root, control and balancer server
04:36
elias_a: yes, indeed
04:37
elias_a: but i think there is nothing i can do, becuase TC boot all the way to the application server, LDM is missing, because i can't tell it to the root server by web admin
04:39
elias_a: btw i will do my howto for 64 environment, just chroot is of course i386
04:40
elias_a: i have my howto already, but i like know is this me, or real bug
04:41
<elias_a>
I have no chance of replicating the bug this week, nor weekend.
04:41
Actually I have not got a 64 bit computer for that either...
04:42
<asmok>
elias_a: yes, i wait for wise guys to show up...
04:45
elias_a: my friend is professional photographer, he upgrade his gears, so i buy his old one - Mac G5/Double processor/6G + Apple Cinema 20" - I put DEbian inside and then I have real server for fun...

(non-ltsp related): I'm looking for a utility to bypass NAT connections, like ssh -R, but one that doesn't involve user accounts. E.g. I may be able to do this with netcat.
08:36
Clients A and B are behind NATs. Server S has a public IP. I got root access on all of them. I want to be able to map e.g. the vnc port 5900 of client A to port 12345 of the server, so that B can connect to it. Any utilities for that? (I guess I need two utilities, one for the server and one for client A).

alkisg, take a look at using a STUN server or ICE, they are pretty good methods of bypassing NAT
09:10
<alkisg>
Can STUN be used to e.g. connect to an ssh server behing nat?
09:11
Or is it only used with specific software?

<nubae|work>
alkisg, yep, telepathy bypasses NAT by using STUN
09:29
not sure how stun works in a general sense, but with telepathy, its a parameter that is given to the connection manager
09:29
<alkisg>
nubae|work: and I assume that I can have my own STUN server (which does have a public IP, of course)?
09:30
<nubae|work>
usually STUN servers are public, and what they do is parse udp packets that tell the clients what ports to use
09:30
I'd guess so, yeah, though it might not even be needed
09:30
<alkisg>
Sounds nice...
09:30
<nubae|work>
one can use vinagre and vino to to video streaming via telepathy
09:30
that should actually bypass NAT
09:31
there was a nice article about this, let me see if I can dig it up... Nokia is behind this...
09:31
gtalk also uses stun

if so, you can edit /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default

and remove "splash"
11:45
<PMantis>
Hmmm

if it straight etherboot, you need to do the funny dhcpd.conf params

then local dev isn't what you need

you need a seperate parameter for local hard disk

where it is?

<PMantis>
Oh, is loading nbi.img the best way to boot via etherboot?
11:50

we like to err on the side of more secure

and let people loosen security as needed

Gadi, then ubuntu should ship with more default options then .. commented out
